Hurricanes 12U Explode for 14-Run Inning to Defeat BBT 12U BLK, 19–6 for the NCS March Madness Win

The Golden Spikes Hurricanes 12U turned in an explosive offensive performance on Sunday, defeating BBT 12U BLK by a score of 19–6. A remarkable 14-run third inning highlighted the day, as the Hurricanes piled up 17 hits and showed off their depth at the plate.

BBT jumped out to a 2–0 lead in the top of the first with an RBI double from Mixi S. and a single from Jax G.. But the Hurricanes answered immediately. In the bottom of the first, Colton M. delivered the biggest blow — a home run to center field that drove in two — as Golden Spikes plated five runs on five hits to flip the game in their favor.

The third inning was where the Hurricanes broke it wide open. The lineup batted around as Fish C., Finn C., Trace L., Colton M., Quinn D., Bennett V., Hagan P., Carson M., and Dom P. all drove in runs. By the time the inning ended, Golden Spikes had scored 14 runs and built a commanding 19–3 lead.

On the mound, Dom P. started for the Hurricanes, allowing three runs (two earned) over three innings with two strikeouts. Zane P. entered in relief to close out the final frames.

At the plate, Finn C. was unstoppable, going 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Colton M., Quinn D., Weston R., and Dom P. each collected multiple hits, while Fish C. added two stolen bases. In total, the Hurricanes’ balanced attack overwhelmed the BBT pitching staff.

BBT’s Jax G. had a strong day, going 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Mixi S. drove in two. The team managed six runs on eight hits but couldn’t match the Hurricanes’ explosive third inning.

The 19–6 victory was another reminder of how dangerous the Hurricanes can be when their lineup gets rolling. With contributions from top to bottom, the team continues to showcase the depth, discipline, and confidence that have become hallmarks of the Golden Spikes program. Next up, the Hurricanes will travel to face The Kage Warriors in Barrie, BC on Thursday.
