Greg Morris brings a powerful blend of experience, insight, and mentorship to the Golden Spikes coaching staff. A former standout infielder, Greg was drafted by the Anaheim Angels in the 5th round of the 1994 MLB Draft after playing college ball at UC Davis, where he earned league MVP and All-Conference honors and was inducted into the UC Davis Baseball Hall of Fame. Over five seasons in the Angels organization, he compiled a .277 career batting average with a .374 OBP and a .780 OPS, driving in more than 200 RBIs while playing for Boise, Lake Elsinore, Cedar Rapids, and Midland. He posted one of his best years in 1998, finishing with a strong .820 OPS and cementing his reputation as a disciplined hitter with power and consistency.

As a coach, Greg is dedicated to helping young athletes refine their fundamentals while also strengthening their mental approach to the game. He specializes in hitting, corner infield play, and offensive development, blending his professional background with a calm, player-first coaching philosophy. With his combination of playing success and teaching expertise, Greg empowers athletes to grow with discipline, confidence, and purpose—making him an invaluable part of the Golden Spikes program.
