Command the Day: Crimson Tide 11U Goes 3–0 to Win NCS April Fools Championship

Some tournament wins are built over a weekend.

This one was built in a single day.

At the NCS April Fools Tournament, the Golden Spikes 11U Crimson Tide handled everything in front of them—three games, three wins, and a championship run defined by timely hitting, aggressive base running, and steady pitching.

By the end of Saturday at Mather Sports Complex, the Crimson Tide had outscored opponents 30–11 and left no doubt about who controlled the day.

Game One: Setting the Tone Early

The Crimson Tide opened with an 11–4 win over Oakley Royals Lewis 11U, and from the first inning, they established control.

They pushed across four runs right away—taking advantage of an error, drawing walks, and getting key hits from Austin and Willie. That early pressure never let Oakley settle in.

Austin led the charge, going 3-for-3 at the plate, including an inside-the-park home run in the fourth inning as part of a five-run surge that broke the game open. Willie added a triple, while Luke and Austin each drove in two runs.

On the mound, Colin delivered a strong outing—four innings, seven strikeouts, and no earned runs—keeping Oakley from building any momentum.

The Crimson Tide also stayed aggressive on the bases, swiping eight stolen bases and drawing nine walks, turning patience into production.

Game Two: Pitching and Timely Power

Game two against NorCal LGND 11U brought a different type of game—and the Crimson Tide adapted.

In a 7–2 win, the offense didn’t need a big inning—they just needed the right one.

After breaking through in the third, Luke delivered the decisive moment in the fourth with a three-run inside-the-park home run, giving Golden Spikes the separation they needed.

From there, the game belonged to Kyle.

He threw a complete game, going six innings while allowing just two runs and keeping NorCal off balance throughout. Behind him, the defense turned a double play and stayed clean.

Offensively, the Crimson Tide continued to apply pressure with seven stolen bases and seven walks, consistently putting runners in motion and forcing mistakes.

Championship Game: Finishing Strong

With two wins already in hand, the Crimson Tide entered the final game against NorCal LGND 11U once again—and delivered their most complete performance of the day.

Final score: 12–5.

After falling behind 2–0 early, Golden Spikes responded immediately with a six-run first inning. Willie delivered the biggest swing with a two-RBI single, while the lineup stayed disciplined and forced opportunities through walks and contact.

NorCal answered in the second, but the Crimson Tide didn’t let the momentum swing.

In the third inning, they added five more runs, fueled by:

  • A two-run single from Caden
  • RBI singles from Hudson and Hunter
  • A bases-loaded walk from Willie

On the mound, Luke handled the early innings before Kevin came in and shut the door—1.1 innings of hitless relief to close it out.

The defense was flawless—zero errors—and the offense continued its trend of patience, drawing 10 walks while stealing seven bases.

A Complete One-Day Run

What stood out about this championship wasn’t just the results—it was how the Crimson Tide won each game differently.

  • Game 1: Early offensive pressure and big innings
  • Game 2: Pitching control and timely power
  • Game 3: Fast response and sustained offense

Across three games:

  • 30 total runs scored
  • 20+ stolen bases
  • Consistent multi-hit and multi-RBI contributions
  • Strong pitching performances from multiple arms

Every part of the roster contributed. Every game required a slightly different approach—and the Crimson Tide handled all of it.

In a tournament where there’s no margin for error and no second day to recover, the Golden Spikes 11U Crimson Tide showed they could execute from the first pitch to the final out.

Three games.
Three wins.
One championship.
