Three games. One day. No room to ease into it.
The Golden Spikes 9U Seminoles didn’t need time to figure things out at the NCS April Fools Tournament—they showed up ready, took control early, and never let the momentum slip.
By the end of Saturday at Mather Sports Complex, the Seminoles had gone 3–0, scoring 41 runs across three games, and walked away as tournament champions.
Game One: Fast Start, Full Control
The Seminoles opened the day with a 14–6 win over Thunderbirds 9U, setting the tone immediately.
They jumped ahead in the first inning capitalizing on pressure—two runs scored on an error, followed by RBI groundouts from Grayson to build an early lead. Then came the second inning, where the game broke open.
The Seminoles put up seven runs on just three hits, using a mix of discipline and aggression:
- Miles delivered a two-run single
- Finn drew an RBI walk
- Tyler added a sacrifice fly
- A steal of home capped the inning
Grayson added the highlight in the third with an inside-the-park home run, finishing with two RBIs, while Miles, Caleb, and Maksim also drove in runs.
On the bases, the Seminoles were relentless—14 stolen bases, turning every opportunity into pressure. At the plate, they drew eight walks, showing patience beyond their age.
A complete opening performance.
Game Two: Third-Inning Explosion
If game one set the tone, game two raised the ceiling.
In a 17–7 win over Delta Valley Rebels 8U, the Seminoles delivered one of their biggest innings of the season—12 runs in the third.
Nearly the entire lineup contributed:
- Grayson drove in runs twice in the inning
- Colton ripped a two-run triple
- Caleb added a two-run single
- Maksim, Cian, and David all contributed RBI hits
The Seminoles finished with 15 hits, led by Grayson’s 3-for-3 performance, while Cian and David added multiple hits of their own.
On the bases, they took it even further—17 stolen bases, consistently forcing defensive mistakes and extending innings.
Even when the Rebels briefly took the lead earlier in the game, the Seminoles didn’t hesitate.
They responded immediately—and then took over.
Championship Game: Composed Finish
In the final game against PH Hawks – VL 9U, the Seminoles faced their most competitive matchup of the day—and handled it with composure.
They jumped out early behind:
- A Finn triple
- A dropped third strike that brought in a run
- A Grayson RBI groundout
After the Hawks battled back and briefly took the lead, the Seminoles answered in the third inning.
Finn, Maksim, and Tyler each delivered RBI singles to regain control, pushing the lead back in their favor.
From there, the pitching took over.
Maksim delivered four strong innings in relief, allowing just three runs while striking out five, shutting down any momentum the Hawks tried to build. Finn added four strikeouts in his start.
At the plate, Finn, Maksim, and David each collected two hits, while the team once again showed discipline with nine walks.
Final score: 10–6.
Championship secured.

- Strong pitching in both starts and relief
Every player contributed. Every inning applied pressure.
